The Start of June

By MAGGIE WANG

Maven's Mommy & Me class milked a "cow"! Fun and funny.

This is Sedona still feeling a little woozy. Sedona went to the dentist bright and early at 7 a.m. Wednesday for a special appointment that included an anesthesiologist because the less intensive treatment of nitrous oxide, etc., didn't keep her from flailing around while Dr. Pak tried with Kevin's help to fix Sedona's nine million cavities last month. So she needed full sedation -- pricey!!! -- and got everything fixed up. She understands the situation well enough that on the drive to the dentist, she told Kevin: "I won't eat sweets anymore. Just gum." We have started giving her Trident Xtra Care gum with a form of calcium (Recaldent) that is good for teeth. She is in love with the gum.

Here's Maven eating cherries. She was good at first with spitting out the pits, but after a while she started swallowing the pits and spitting out the cherry itself! At least she likes fruit ... and she has become a better teeth-brusher lately with Kevin's system where she holds her favorite pillow while we do it.

I have changed up our house again to create a smaller TV area in our office for the girls, shifting away from our main living-room area.

Maven went to her first birthday party without Sedona: Simon Doran's 2nd birthday. He is from Maven's Mommy & Me class last year. Landry is to her left, and Simon is to the left of Landry.

The party was at Art Zone for Kids.(Yes, we did finally cut Maven's bangs the other day. She sure did like having hair in her eyes for some reason.)

Playing with the birthday boy!
