The girls woke up bright and early for us at 4 a.m. Taiwan time on Day Two, but they played a bit by themselves until we zipped up to the 12th floor for porridge-everywhere breakfast. Then we hung out at Uncle Steve and Aunt Kelly's house a bit before heading to lunch at Mitsui, a lovely Japanese place.
Maven devoured Unagi (eel) while Sedona had two orders of Kappa Maki (cucumber rolls). They both wore their jackets because of the strong air conditioning!
Then a quick stop at the temple to make some "wishes" ...
Highlight of the day? A exciting (yet scary for me) ride on the Maokong Gondola. My parents were free as seniors, and we were $2 each. What a deal!
Maven was a bit scared at first but quickly recovered and loved it. Sedona, on the other hand, continued to insist, "I'm not scared! I'm not scared at all!"
Then the kids conked out for a long nap after that. We forced them up for dinner and a hair-clip hunt in the night market. They spent $50-plus on hair pins and were super happy about their hauls.
