Insects or Out-sects?

By MAGGIE WANG

In the car on the way home from seeing A-Gong & A-Ma Ding, Sedona was telling me: "We don't let spiders, bees, ants or flies in our house because they are animals."
Trying to teach her new things, I told her that they were not animals; they were insects.
She found me to be completely silly and said, "No, Mommy, OUT-sects! OUT-sects!"
I explained to her that even though they weren't allowed inside, they were named "insects."
She didn't believe me, but I think she'll eventually learn that I wasn't lying to her.
